What is SchoolSyntaxERP?

SchoolSyntaxERP is an enterprise-grade, multi-tenant ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) platform purpose-built for educational institutions. It covers every operational function of a school, college, or university — academics, finance, HR, admissions, attendance, examinations, communication, analytics, and more — in a single, deeply integrated platform.

What types of institutions does SchoolSyntaxERP support?

SchoolSyntaxERP is designed for any educational institution, including K-12 schools, primary and secondary schools, universities, colleges, vocational and technical institutes, religious schools, international schools, and government education networks. The platform is equally suited for a single-campus school of 50 students and a 50-campus school network with 500,000 students.

Is SchoolSyntaxERP cloud-based or on-premise?

SchoolSyntaxERP is a cloud-native SaaS platform. All you need is a browser — there's nothing to install, no servers to maintain, and no IT department required. Enterprise clients who require on-premise deployment for regulatory or security reasons should contact our sales team to discuss options.

How long does implementation take?

Most institutions are fully operational within 3–7 days. Our guided setup wizard walks your admin through configuration. For Professional plans, our onboarding team provides a dedicated session. Enterprise clients with complex data migration needs typically complete implementation in 2–4 weeks.

Do you support multiple languages?

The platform interface is currently available in English, Kiswahili, French, and Arabic. We are actively adding more languages. Report and document output can be configured in any language supported by your system fonts.

Pricing & Billing

Is there a free trial?

Yes. All paid plans include a 30-day free trial with full access to all features for that plan. No credit card is required to start. After 30 days, you can choose to subscribe or export your data and leave — no questions asked.

Can I switch plans mid-subscription?

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. You can change your plan any time from your institution admin settings.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, M-Pesa, bank transfer (for annual Enterprise contracts), and PayPal. All transactions are processed over TLS with PCI-DSS compliant payment infrastructure. VAT-compliant receipts are issued automatically.

Are there discounts for non-profits or government schools?

Yes. We offer up to 40% discount for registered non-profit educational institutions and government-funded schools in qualifying countries. Submit a request via our contact form with your institution's registration documentation for assessment.

Technical

What browsers and devices does SchoolSyntaxERP support?

SchoolSyntaxERP works on any modern browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. The platform is fully responsive and works on desktops, tablets, and smartphones. We officially support browser versions released within the last 2 years. Internet Explorer is not supported.

Does SchoolSyntaxERP have an API?

Yes. Standard plan includes read-only API access. Professional and Enterprise plans include full REST API access with webhooks. Our API is documented at docs.schoolsyntaxerp.com and follows RESTful conventions with JSON responses and OAuth 2.0 authentication.

Can I import data from our current system?

Yes. We provide CSV/Excel import templates for students, staff, fee records, and historical data. Guided import wizards validate your data before importing. Professional plan clients receive a dedicated migration session. Enterprise clients receive white-glove data migration by our technical team.

What is your uptime SLA?

We guarantee 99.9% uptime for Professional plans and 99.99% for Enterprise plans, measured monthly excluding scheduled maintenance windows (communicated 72 hours in advance). Our live uptime status is published at status.schoolsyntaxerp.com.

Security & Data

Who owns our institution's data?

You do. Your institution's data is yours, always. We are the data processor, you are the data controller. We will never sell, share, or use your student or staff data for any purpose other than operating the platform on your behalf. You can export or delete your data at any time.

Is our data backed up?

Yes. Automated daily backups with 90-day retention. Backups are encrypted, stored in a geographically separate region from primary data, and tested weekly. Enterprise plans include point-in-time recovery (PITR) with up to 7 days granularity.

Is the platform GDPR compliant?

Yes. SchoolSyntaxERP is fully GDPR compliant. We provide Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) for EU/EEA institutions, support the right to erasure, and maintain detailed records of all data processing activities. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

Support

What support is included with my plan?

Free plan: Community forum access. Starter: Email support (48hr response). Standard: Email + live chat (24hr response). Professional: Priority email + chat (4hr response). Enterprise: Dedicated support engineer, 24/7 availability, 1hr response SLA.

Is there training and onboarding help?

Yes. All paid plans include access to our comprehensive documentation and video tutorial library. Standard plan includes a 1-hour guided onboarding session. Professional plan includes a 3-session onboarding program. Enterprise includes as many sessions as needed plus a dedicated Customer Success Manager for the first 90 days.

How do I submit a support ticket?

From within the platform, click the Help icon in the bottom-right corner. You can also email support@schoolsyntaxerp.com or visit our support portal at support.schoolsyntaxerp.com. Enterprise clients have a dedicated Slack channel with their assigned engineer.
